Each year the Horatio Alger Association awards over 100 $20,000 scholarships to seniors across the country. Seniors who meet the scholarship criteria may apply for the scholarship. Recipients of the scholarship are afforded countless opportunities as they move forward to their futures as Horatio Alger Scholars.

In order to apply,a student must meet the criteria and going online to https://www.horatioalger.org/scholarships/index.cfm, enter the site then click on "apply now". There the student begins the online application process.

The deadline for submitting the online application and having supplemental materials postmarked is October the 25, 2013. This is a solid deadline that is not normally waived; please make sure your students are aware of that.

The Coca-cola scholarship application is due by October the 31, 2013. Also,there are four scholarships on the Coca-cola website. Just Google Coca-Cola scholarships. Another good scholarship is the Bill Gates Scholarships. There are numerous ones for different categories. Just Google Bill Gates scholarships.

Many Scholarships located at: www.occf.org   I have encouraged the Seniors to look at each one carefully but to be sure and do the Dr. Eugene Briggs scholarship, the McAlester Scottish Rites scholarship  and the Oklahoma Rural Rehabilitation Corporation scholarship.
